John Meincke is vice president, Air Force and Navy Operations, with Unisys U.S. Federal Government Group, based in Reston, Va. In this position, John oversees management of the Air Force and Navy operations in the federal marketplace.
John joins Unisys from Booz Allen Hamilton, where he was a member of the defense team and supported projects in C4ISR and network centric warfare. He led the cross-firm work in network operations that included support for Combatant Commands. John was also co-lead of Booz Allen’s Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) leadership team.
Prior to joining Booz Allen, John retired from the Air Force as a brigadier general. During his military career, he was director of command, control, communications and computer systems (J6) at the U.S. Central Command. He was chief information officer for all communications, computer systems and data networks at the Florida headquarters as well as throughout 25 countries across the Middle East.
John developed the Theater C4ISR Control Center (TCCC) for CENTCOM, allowing all elements of the networks supporting CENTCOM throughout the area of responsibility to be monitored and coordinated. Information from this TCCC was integrated into DISA’s worldwide Global Network Operations and Security Center, allowing network situational status impacting combat operations to be immediately visualized and assessed.
He also secured the first operation fiber optic connectivity for DoD communications systems within the Middle East. He held several additional senior leadership positions within the Air Force, including director of information technology systems and director of policy, information systems and technology, where he created C4 systems security policy for the Air Force.
John holds a degree in electrical engineering from Lehigh University, and a masters in management from Webster University.
Andy Watson
Chief Technology Officer, Strategic Technology
Andy Watson specializes in external technology and its intersection with NetApp products and services. By working with partners around the world, he learns about emerging technologies and techniques that complement NetApp offerings. Watson's responsibilities include discovering, tracking, and recommending acquisition or partnering mechanisms related to emerging external technologies that complement the company's internal product development strategy. He has been with Network Appliance since 1995.
Before joining Network Appliance, Watson worked for companies such as Auspex Systems, Lockheed Martin, Prime Computer, and Data General in roles such as aerospace engineering, software development, performance engineering, technical evangelism, consulting, and technical marketing. During his tenure in these positions, he developed valuable insight and a pragmatic perspective on how customers make technology decisions. He also has over 10 years of experience as a customer, where he made purchasing and deployment decisions.
Watson has a bachelor of arts degree in physics from Bard College, Annandale-on-Hudson, New York.
