OVERTONE SOFTWARE ANNOUNCES INDUSTRY’S FIRST END-TO-END ENTERPRISE LIFECYCLE FOR WINDOWS, UNIX AND DATA ONTAP FILE SYSTEMS WITH MANAGETONE 3.0

Enhanced global management provides expanded disk and tape functionality for multi-site environments.

BETHESDA, Maryland --- September 30, 2004. Overtone Software today announced an industry milestone with its upcoming release of its ManageTone Lifecycle Suite 3.0, an enterprise-class, end-to-end information lifecycle management (ILM) solution for Windows®, UNIX, and Data ONTAP™ file systems. The new version, available for shipment immediately, adds end-to-end global management and enhanced tape library functionality on all supported platforms.

ManageTone Lifecycle Suite adds the ability to see and manage all devices through a single interface, and migrate to multiple secondary disk, tertiary tape devices, and offsite vaults to achieve flexible DR support and long-term archiving requirements for multi-site enterprises. Overtone Software’s DOT™ technology eliminates the necessity of single or multiple management databases that must continuously be in synch. Data losses on primary, secondary, or tertiary can quickly be recovered from downstream volumes. Consolidation or repositioning of data is accomplished with a few clicks of a mouse. Tape library support includes all major vendors and formats, with robotics support residing on Windows, UNIX, Netware, and Data ONTAP devices. Robotics support can configure as stand-alone or can share library resources with major backup softwares.
